Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper. 31 And among His signs are the ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas: 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 those who dispute Our signs shall learn that they have no escape. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 And (for) those who avoid cardinal sins and indecencies, and forgive (even) when they are angry. 37 those who answer their Lord, establish the prayers, and their affairs are by consultation; who spend of that which We have given them, 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 The meed of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereunto; but whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his hire is on Allah; verily He approveth not the wrong-doers. 40 And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them. 41 Reproach is only against those who oppress people, and wrongfully spread rebellion in the land; for them is a painful punishment. 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
