The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon). 1 (Regardless of any Signs these people see), they turn away and say: “This is an ongoing sorcery.” 2 And they denied and followed their own desires, whereas each matter has been decided! 3 And indeed the news which had a lot of deterrence, came to them. 4 which are full of wisdom; but the warnings do not help. 5 Therefore, turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller summons them to a terrible thing, 6 abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers, 7 Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day." 8 ۞ Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. 9 so he cried out to his Lord, saying, "I am overcome, so help me!" 10 And so We caused the gates of heaven to open with water pouring down in torrents, 11 And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined. 12 But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: 13 Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected. 14 And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember? 15 So how dreadful have been My torment and My warning! 16 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 17 Ad cried lies. How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 18 Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. 19 Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees. 20 How [dreadful] was My punishment and My warning! 21 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember? 22
