The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 purify your garments; 4 And stay away from idols. 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 By no means! He has been stubbornly hostile to Our revelation: 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
