Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 and rejects what is right, 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
