The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 it closes in on them from every side 8 In extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
