He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Strengthen me through him, 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go, you and your brother with My signs, and do not be negligent of My Remembrance. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He said; fear not; verily I shall be with you twain: I shall hear and see. 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
