The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 and guard their private parts 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 to their promise, 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure, and lodged it in the earth, and We are able to take it all away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
