۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Even so We do with the sinners; 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 You will only be recompensed according to your deeds.” 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large-eyed 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong-doers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
