The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
