He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 So you are after him! 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 exalted and purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
