[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 Who believe in their Lord's revelations, 58 and those who associate naught with their Lord 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 We do not lay a burden on anyone beyond his capacity. We have a Book with Us that speaks the truth (about everyone); and they shall in no wise be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Is it then that they do not ponder over what is said, or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
