Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah too was one of the Envoys; 139 He abandoned his people 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 Allah hath begotten. Allah! verily they tell a lie. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgement? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 What though they would say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 LIMITLESS in His glory is thy Sustainer, the Lord of almightiness, [exalted] above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
