The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. 5 Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 cast out [from all grace,] with lasting suffering in store for them [in the life to come]; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 And when they are admonished, they receive not admonition. 13 And when they see an Ayah (a sign, a proof, or an evidence) from Allah, they mock at it. 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
