Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark), 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
