Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 And when the Graves are turned upside down;- 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 watching over you 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is the Day when no soul can do a thing for another soul. That Day, the command belongs to Allah. 19
