The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
