Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth did not avail him, nor his acquisitions. 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 and his wife, the carrier of the firewood, 4 upon her neck shall be a rope of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
