Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
