BUT NAY! I call to witness all that you can see, 38 And what you do not see, 39 That it is surely the speech brought by messenger honourable. 40 It is not the word of a poet: little it is ye believe! 41 nor is it the speech of a soothsayer little do you remember. 42 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 43 And if he [i.e., the Prophets] had forged this Discourse and thereafter ascribed it to Us, 44 We would indeed have seized him by his right hand, 45 And then severed his life-vein. 46 None of you would be able to prevent Us from doing this to him. 47 And indeed this Qur’an is an advice for the pious. 48 We know very well that there are some among you who reject Our signs -- 49 it will be a source of bitter regret for those who deny the truth -- 50 And indeed, it is the truth of certainty. 51 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 52
