'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 and my tongue fluent 27 so that they might fully understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 Increase through him my strength 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 Speak to him gently. He may possibly take heed or may come to have fear." 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 You eat and let your cattle graze' Surely, in this there are signs for those of understanding. 54
