He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 and fruit and pastures, 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 his mother and his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
