The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds (in disbelief and evil deed, etc.). 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A slave when he prayeth? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 or orders piety? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
