The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 by the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 by a burning fire 5 when they were seated over it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
