Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 cushions ranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
