The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
