The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in endless columns! 9
