And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 "The people of the Pharaoh: will they not fear Allah?" 11 Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, 12 And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me). 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 "So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.' " 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 [Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Firon said: And what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 (The Pharaoh) said to those around him: "Do you hear?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
