Nay, by the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
