Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 As justification or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 for the living and the dead? 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
