Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Then, surely, it is for Us to call them to account. 26
