And indeed this Qur’an has been sent down by the Lord Of The Creation. 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 And [this divine writ is such a reminder:] no evil spirits have brought it down: 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers. 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
