The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
