Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
