Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets laid out, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
