۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 and halt them [there]!" [And then,] behold, they shall be asked, 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will say: “Nay, you yourselves were not the ones who would believe. 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Behold, you will indeed taste grievous suffering [in the life to come,] 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in gardens of bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be maidens (houris) who restrain their wide glances 48 As if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
