Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
