The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
