The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
