And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
