And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
