And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
