The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
