The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
