Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

The craving for excess wealth kept you people neglectful. 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Then no! You are going to know. 4 Indeed, were you to know the truth with certainty, 5 you shall surely see Hell; 6 And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
