(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 We perpetuated his praise in later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 Abraham said: “I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled your dream." Thus do We reward the good. 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
