He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and in awe of God 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 May man be slain – how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 Olives and dates, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
