Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them; 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 and that which they had earned did not help them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators 90 Who have made the Quran into parts. (i.e. believed in a part and disbelieved in the other). 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 About their deeds. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
