Say: "I am only a warner, and there is no other god but God, the one, the omnipotent, 65 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, the Mighty, the most Forgiving. 66 Say: It is a message of importance, 67 (And) you are turning aside from it: 68 I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; 69 “I receive only the divine revelations, that I am purely a clear Herald of Warning.” 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed My spirit into him, prostrate yourselves before him." 72 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them: 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 The Lord said: “O Iblis, what prevented you from prostrating yourself before him whom I created of My Two Hands. Are you waxing proud, or fancy yourself to be too exalted?” 75 Said Iblis, “I am better than him; You made me from fire, and You have created him from clay!” 76 He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast, 77 My condemnation will be with you until the Day of Judgment!" 78 He said: my Lord! respite me till the Day whereon they are raised up. 79 He said: Surely you are of the respited ones, 80 Until the day of the time appointed. 81 He said: "By Your authority, I will lead them astray, 82 except Your sincere servants among them". 83 [And God] said: "This, then, is the truth! And this truth do I state: 84 that I shall certainly fill hell with you and your followers all together". 85 Say: 'I ask of you no wage for it, neither am I of those who take things upon themselves. 86 this is simply an admonition to mankind, 87 You will come to know its truth in time." 88
