Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
59 verses, revealed in Mecca after Vanity (Al-Zukhruf) before Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 I swear by the Book that makes manifest (the truth). 2 We sent it (this Quran) down on a blessed night [(i.e. night of Qadr, Surah No: 97) in the month of Ramadan, the 9th month of the Islamic calendar]. Verily, We are ever warning [mankind that Our Torment will reach those who disbelieve in Our Oneness of Lordship and in Our Oneness of worship]. 3 (We revealed it on the Night) wherein every matter is wisely determined 4 an order from Us. We are ever sending. 5 As Mercy from thy Lord: for He hears and knows (all things); 6 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them: if you would only have sure faith. 7 There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers. 8 Nay, but they are in doubt, playing. 9 WAIT, THEN, for the Day when the skies shall bring forth a pall of smoke which will make obvious [the approach of the Last Hour,] 10 Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous. 11 Then they will say, "Lord, relieve us from this torment, for truly we are now believers in You." 12 How shall they be reminded, and there came to them an Apostle making clear (the truth), 13 Whereas they had then turned away from him and said, “He is a madman, tutored!”? 14 [Still,] behold, We shall postpone this suffering for a little while, although you are bound to revert [to your evil ways: but] 15 On the day when We will seize (them) with the most violent seizing; surely We will inflict retribution. 16 ۞ And certainly We tried before them the people of Firon, and there came to them a noble apostle, 17 (and said): “Deliver to me Allah's servants. I am a trustworthy Messenger to you, 18 "And be not arrogant as against Allah: for I come to you with authority manifest. 19 I seek protection from my Lord and your Lord from your decision of stoning me. 20 If you do not believe in me, leave me alone." 21 Then he cried out to his Lord, "These are sinful people." 22 Then (his Lord commanded): Take away My slaves by night. Lo! ye will be followed, 23 (Cross and) leave the sea undisturbed. The (pursuing) hosts will surely be drowned," 24 How many were the gardens and springs they left behind, 25 and sown fields, fine sitting places, 26 and [all that] life of ease in which they used to delight! 27 Thus it was; and We made another people inherit all that. 28 Neither did the heavens weep for them, nor the earth, nor were they granted respite. 29

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
