I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 Build ye on every eminence a landmark in vanity? 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 Fear Him who has given you all the things you know. 132 "He has aided you with cattle and children. 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They replied: "It is all the same for us whether you admonish us or not. 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 “And we will not be punished.” 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them.
